Georgia Department of Labor sees slight increase in jobs in metro Atlanta

ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor has reported the unemployment rate remains steady, and down from a year ago.

The current unemployment rate in Georgia is 3.5 percent, down from 3.9 percent in 2024.

Overall, jobs are up slightly in the metro Atlanta area, with local governments showing the largest gains since July. However, officials add that jobs in the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector saw a decline.
