ATLANTA — Autumn officially begins Monday, September 22, bringing cooler weather, falling leaves, and shorter days.
By October 1, Atlanta will have just under 12 hours of daylight, about 11 hours and 49 minutes. Over the course of the month, the city will lose roughly an hour of daylight as the days continue to shorten.
Clocks will “fall back” one hour in November when daylight saving time ends, giving residents an extra hour of sleep but an earlier sunset.
