BROOKHAVEN, GA — An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed while walking in a crosswalk on a busy road in metro Atlanta.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon and the intersection of Clairmont Road and Dresden Drive.
According to a witness, later identified as the victim’s boyfriend, the truck was turning right from Dresden Drive northbound when the collision occurred.
Brookhaven police say a truck driver who initially did not stop at the time of the collision is in custody.
Neither the victim nor the driver have been identified.
All lanes have since reopened from the police investigation.
